Uptown Theater Spring Bash

Slewholler had a great night at the Uptown. 4 Stages of entertainment with us kicking the night off on the main stage. The sound was amazing and we all played in time and in tune. We had a special guest star Samantha Kofahl. The songs that we performed were: Blame it on Waylon, Copperhead Road, Working Man Blues, Turn the Page, Cry Lonely, Gunpowder and Lead....If you missed it, catch the photos at

Until next time....

Wedding and Karaoke Gigs

Half of JAM Sound (Jamie) provided lovely dancing music at a wedding Saturday 15 May, while the the other half (Me) provided Karaoke music to friends of the military bar, or the same place that Slewholler (our band) played the night before....(note to self...i should have worn the same clothes, that way only one set of clothing smells like smoke!) Anyways, according to text messages from Jamie, the wedding sucked, hardly anyone dancing or having fun. Must be a funeral instead. On the other hand, my karaoke gig was packed with about 80 people, some who could sing and others who well shouldn't sing. But as the night goes on the bar thins out and everyone sounds good. I wonder if next time I should just have kamikazee karaoke instead?

KBar (Slewholler performance)

Small venue, great place and great people. Night started off a little slow, some PA technical difficulties, but our sound man TATER HOGG took care of it....with a coat hanger, duct tape and a magic marker!

We performed all of our songs rather well, josh (the drummer) played exceptionally good backed up by David on bass. These two rocked the house, good thing the Belton Police didn't know where the bar actually is....FYI, its tucked away in a dusty old basement of the military personnel center on R-G Memorial Airport.

Next gig is the Spring Bash at the Uptown theater! Huge venue, large audience and great sound. Hope to see you there!

Sound Gig, Spring Days, Mission, KS

Ran sound for 5 different bands for 1st Annual Club Wars for Spring Days in Mission, KS. This event was sponsored by Kilroy Productions. Took about an hour to set up, 4 18" subs, 2 215 Peavey Mains, JBL and Kustom Monitors. Everything sounded good in the beginnning when running cover songs from the Tater's computer.

In steps the first band.....Bass, Drums and Guitar. Young kids, maybe 14 or so. Music was okay....if you are that age. My ears were hurting....more like ringing. Little technical difficulties with crossover and amps.

As the night goes on the bands get worse and much the same type of music, you know the kind that makes your ears bleed? I didnt know that growling was an art of singing!

Cold night, bad bands at least 3 of the 4. Sound difficulties but we pulled it off. Next sound gig is May 28th at the Uptown Theater.
